About Lentz and Company

How we got started…

I'm Leigh Ann. I've had a passion for vintage my whole life, especially anything that looks like it belongs on the set of "Mad Men". I've also worked in retail for over 25 years and enjoy people, so opening my own shop seemed like a natural fit. I love when the store is filled with guests discovering new-to-them treasures. Some have the eye for detail and design of past era pieces, while others wander around exclaiming "My Mom had this!" All of their reactions bring joy to my heart.

It has also been a great opportunity to showcase local art and crafts. Cincinnati has so many wonderfully talented artists, and I love to offer them another location to showcase and sell their wares.

 The heart of it all…

I located the shop on Ludlow Avenue because of the connection I feel to the neighborhood. After my parents (who have both passed away) graduated from UC, they started their lives here. I image them as students and then young newlyweds exploring Clifton and making it their home. When I walk the beautiful tree-lined streets, admire the old homes or even enjoy a meal, I like to think I'm having the same experiences they did. They're definitely in my heart as my vintage shop and new life adventure takes root.

My favorite part: the thrill of the hunt...

Vintage is so much fun because it lets you express yourself with originality and flair. Older pieces have history (and durability!) and can be conversation pieces as well as as adding personality and function to your home.

And of course there's the excitement of the unknown, the objects waiting to be found and brought back to life! I love to sift through the clutter of flea markets, musty basements & attics, and layers of dust to have that Eureka moment…"Look what I found! Someone will LOVE this!" And they do. Its great to be a treasure hunter and unearth forgotten memories.
